Community Guidelines

These Guidelines govern content the current service supports: booking notes, shop profiles, hosted shop website content, and authorized shop customer or service-record notes.

Status: Pre-launch draft — not yet effective

1. Current content scope

WrenchFinder currently accepts limited content needed for service requests and shop operations. It does not currently provide public reviews, public comments, or customer-to-shop chat. Internal booking and technician notes must still follow these Guidelines even though they are not public.

2. Be accurate and relevant

  • Use booking notes for information reasonably relevant to the requested automotive service.
  • Keep shop identity, contact information, location, services, and displayed prices truthful and current.
  • Use customer and service-record notes only for legitimate shop work, related records, safety, or lawful follow-up.
  • Do not impersonate a person or business, fabricate availability, create fraudulent requests, or misrepresent qualifications or services.

3. Keep people safe and treat them respectfully

No threats, harassment, hateful or discriminatory content, sexual exploitation, instructions intended to defeat safety or emissions systems, fraud, theft, or promotion of unlawful services. Do not use a request or shop record to target, intimidate, or abuse another person.

4. Protect privacy and confidential information

Include only information reasonably needed for the record. Do not place payment-card data, identity documents, account credentials, unrelated health information, or another person's confidential information in notes. Do not publish customer phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses, full VINs, licence plates, employee records, or private correspondence on public shop pages.

Shop users must access customer and vehicle information only within their assigned role and organization and must not reuse it for unrelated marketing without the consent required by law.

5. Respect rights and the law

Submit only content you have the right and authority to use. No defamation, copyright or trademark infringement, deceptive links, malware, unlawful discrimination, spam, security bypass, or content that violates a court order, professional duty, or applicable law.

6. Shop website and promotional content

A shop may describe genuine services and offers in supported profile or hosted-website fields. It must clearly state material conditions and must not use keyword stuffing, false urgency, hidden terms, misleading prices, third-party marks without permission, or claims that WrenchFinder certifies or guarantees its work.

7. Enforcement and reports

WrenchFinder may restrict or remove content, limit access, preserve evidence, or suspend an account where reasonably necessary to enforce these Guidelines, protect security or safety, or comply with law. WrenchFinder does not promise to monitor every note or adjudicate the underlying repair dispute.

Report a platform-content issue through the verified support channel: Content reporting contact pending launch verification. Include the relevant page or request reference and enough context to investigate, but do not send unnecessary sensitive information.
