Public legal document
Terms of Use
These Terms govern the current WrenchFinder marketplace, accounts, Garage, shop pages, and service-request workflow. A separate agreement governs automotive work between a customer and an independent shop.
Status: Pre-launch draft — not yet effective
1. Agreement and operator
These Terms are an agreement between you and Lema Frontier Inc., operating as WrenchFinder from Alberta. They apply when you access the platform, create an account, save a vehicle, submit a service request, or use a shop page.
If you do not agree, do not use WrenchFinder. You must be legally capable of entering this agreement. If you act for a business, you represent that you have authority to bind it. Participating shops are also subject to a separate written shop agreement.
2. Current platform service
WrenchFinder currently lets users search active shop profiles by entered location and service, view shop information and displayed starting prices, optionally use a map, save Garage vehicles, and send a selected shop a service request. Authorized shop users can manage requests, customer records, service records, team access, shop profile information, and hosted shop website content according to their role.
WrenchFinder does not currently provide public review submission, customer-to-shop chat, vehicle buying or selling, platform repair-payment checkout, paid sponsored ranking, or live shop-calendar inventory. A feature described in a roadmap, draft, or future-requirements document is not part of the current service.
3. Independent shops and repair contracts
Listed automotive businesses are independent from WrenchFinder. WrenchFinder is generally not the repair provider and is not a party to the diagnosis, estimate, repair, inspection, storage, warranty, or other automotive-service contract between a customer and a shop.
Subject to applicable law, each shop is responsible for its own:
- identity, contact details, location, services, hours or availability information, and prices it chooses to display;
- licences, registrations, permits, insurance, facilities, equipment, personnel, subcontractors, and regulatory compliance;
- diagnosis, recommendations, quotations, labour, parts, taxes, repairs, workmanship, timing, invoices, refunds, and warranties;
- vehicle custody, test drives, storage, damage, safety, and customer property; and
- obtaining legally required customer authorization before work or additional charges.
4. Service requests and status
When you submit a request, it begins in a new or pending state and is delivered to the selected shop. The preferred date and time shown in the form are not connected to a live shop calendar. The shop may contact you using the submitted phone number or email, mark the request contacted, confirm it, complete it, or cancel it. If the requested time or work is unavailable, the shop may decline or discuss an alternative outside the platform.
Customers do not currently have an in-account cancellation or rescheduling control. Contact the shop promptly using the profile or confirmation details. Shop-specific deposit, cancellation, or no-show terms apply only if the shop properly discloses them. See the Cancellation and Refund Policy.
5. Marketplace information, estimates, and links
Shop information and service availability can change. Search results are filtered using available profile and service data; WrenchFinder does not currently sell sponsored placement. A displayed starting price is informational, not a final repair quote. Vehicle condition, diagnosis, parts, labour, taxes, supplies, and additional authorized work may change the final price.
Shop websites, custom domains, telephone and email links, map services, directions, and VIN-decoder services may be operated by third parties under their own terms and privacy practices. WrenchFinder does not control an external service merely because it is linked from the platform.
WrenchFinder does not collect repair payments from customers through the current request flow. Repair invoices and payments are handled directly by the shop.
6. Accounts, roles, and security
You must provide accurate information, use only an account you are authorized to use, protect credentials, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. Shop owners must assign team access only to appropriate personnel and remove it when no longer required. Managers, estimators, office staff, technicians, and owners may have different capabilities.
Do not attempt to access another driver's Garage, another shop's records, a customer record outside your duties, or any administrative or technical function for which you lack permission.
7. Customer responsibilities
Customers must provide a genuine request and reasonably accurate contact and vehicle information. You must not create fraudulent or duplicate requests, impersonate another person, harass or abuse a shop or its personnel, submit unlawful content, distribute malware, interfere with the platform, scrape protected information, bypass security, or manipulate platform functions.
You remain responsible for deciding whether a shop and proposed service are suitable, reviewing the shop's estimate and terms, removing valuables from the vehicle, disclosing relevant safety concerns, and authorizing work directly with the shop.
8. Shop responsibilities
A participating shop must keep its identity, contact information, location, services, and displayed prices truthful and reasonably current; confirm capacity before representing a request as confirmed; and use customer information only for the requested service, related records, lawful follow-up, and other purposes for which it has valid authority.
A shop must not impersonate a business, publish fraudulent availability, spam customers, add a customer to marketing without the consent required by law, manipulate search or platform systems, scrape protected data, circumvent security, or let personnel use records outside their assigned duties.
9. Submitted content
Current submitted content can include booking notes, account and Garage information, shop profile and hosted-website content, and authorized shop customer or service-record notes. Booking and internal technician notes are not public comments or a chat feature.
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Lema Frontier Inc. a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, format, transmit, and display that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, and enforce the current WrenchFinder service. The licence ends when the content is deleted from active systems, except to the extent a copy remains in a lawful record, backup cycle, shop record you directed us to share, or evidence required for security or a dispute.
You must have the rights and authority needed to submit content. It must comply with the Community Guidelines. We may restrict or remove content where reasonably necessary for security, law, safety, or enforcement, but do not promise to monitor every record.
10. Intellectual property and prohibited exploitation
WrenchFinder's brand, software, user interface, databases, templates, and original platform content are owned by Lema Frontier Inc. or its licensors. Shop names, marks, and submitted content remain the property of their respective owners. No right is granted to use a third party's mark or content.
We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the platform for its intended purpose. You may not copy or commercially exploit protected platform content, use automated harvesting or scraping that is unauthorized or disruptive, reverse engineer where prohibited by law, probe or bypass security, introduce malware, send spam, commit fraud, abuse accounts, or interfere with service operation.
11. Privacy and electronic communications
The Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled. By submitting a request, you direct WrenchFinder to send the selected shop the relevant contact, vehicle, service, preferred-time, and note information so it can respond. The current platform does not send booking SMS or marketing email. Account-verification email may be required to operate an enabled account.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using WrenchFinder at any time and may request account deletion, subject to identity verification and lawful retention. WrenchFinder may restrict access, deactivate a shop listing, or suspend an account where reasonably necessary to address fraud, abuse, a security risk, unlawful conduct, material Terms violations, or a legal obligation. We do not promise that every restriction can be self-served or immediate.
Terms that reasonably need to continue after access ends will survive, including ownership, lawful records, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute provisions.
13. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, the platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. WrenchFinder does not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free or current marketplace information, a shop response, a requested time, a final price, shop performance, or a particular repair outcome. Automotive guidance and VIN-decoder results are general information and are not a diagnosis or safety certification.
Nothing in these Terms excludes a statutory, consumer, or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded. The Marketplace Disclaimer provides additional context.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lema Frontier Inc. and its directors, officers, employees, affiliates, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential loss, loss of use or data, lost profit, substitute transportation, or loss caused by an independent shop's act or omission.
For a claim arising directly from the WrenchFinder platform, aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of CAD 100 and the amount you paid directly to WrenchFinder for the affected service during the twelve months before the event. This clause does not limit liability or remedies that cannot lawfully be limited, and it does not reduce a customer's rights against the independent shop responsible for automotive services.
15. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, a business user or shop will indemnify Lema Frontier Inc. from third-party claims, losses, and reasonable legal costs caused by that party's unlawful content, fraudulent activity, unauthorized use of customer information, automotive services, or material breach of these Terms. An individual consumer is responsible under this clause only for losses directly caused by that individual's intentional fraud, unlawful content, or deliberate misuse of the platform. WrenchFinder will provide prompt notice and reasonable control of the defence, and no settlement may impose an admission or non-monetary obligation on an indemnified party without consent.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any non-waivable consumer right to use another forum, disputes may be brought before the courts of Alberta. Either party may seek urgent relief where appropriate.
17. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms prospectively. The document metadata will be updated, and additional notice or consent will be provided where required. Continued use constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by law.
